Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. NIV
Life Application
There was a time when we would see the Head of the Household positioned at the head of the dining table preparing to break bread by sharpening the carving knife.
This act involved drawing each side of the cutting edge against a hardened steel rod with fine ridges for the slicing and distribution of the deliciously prepared Thanksgiving turkey.
Just as the act of iron against iron sharpens, so should be the exchange of words, ideas coupled with good counsel among God’s people. God expects His children to share intellectually as well as spiritually with one another that will provide answers to some thought provoking questions or the resources for which to achieve such answers. God instructs us to go out and teach all nations. Friendly intercommunication is a great way to form relationships as we seek to encourage, support and educate one another to sharpen our skills for the building up of His Kingdom.
